Regional and National Championship Results
 
Hockey Alberta is pleased to announce the results from the latest National and Regional Championships.

ALLAN CUP – Senior AAA – National Championship

Champions – Bentley Generals

Diarmuid Kelly was the hero in double-overtime as the Bentley Generals defeated Manitoba's South East Prairie Thunder 4-3 to win senior hockey's Allan Cup in Steinbach, Manitoba.

Ryan Manitowich scored twice for the Generals and Kent Beagle sent the senior AAA tournament championship game into overtime with a short-handed goal at 8:03 in the third period.

Generals goaltender Cody Rudkowsky made 42 saves for the win, while at the other end Brent Zelenewich stopped 56 shots.

DOYLE CUP – Junior A – Regional Championship – April 17-26, 2009

Game 3 – April 21 – 7:30pm – Grand Prairie

Game 5 – April 24 – 7:30pm - Grande Prairie **If Necessary**
Game 6 – April 25 – 7:30pm – Grande Prairie **If Necessary**
Game 7 – April 26 – 7:30pm – Grande Prairie **If Necessary**

Vernon leads series 2-0. The remaining games will be played in Grande Prairie. The winner will advance to the Royal Bank Cup.

Royal Bank Cup Final – May 2-10 – Victoria, BC

KEYSTONE CUP – Junior B – Regional Championship - Thunder Bay, ON

Bronze Medal Game – Lloydminster Bandits (4) Saskatoon Royals (8)
Gold Medal Game – Richmond Sockeyes (6) K&A Wolverines (5)

The Lloydminster Bandits lost 8-4 to the Saskatoon Royals in the Bronze Medal game to finish fourth at the 2009 Keystone Cup.
