The Spruce Grove Saints are pleased to announce that Chad Blanleil has committed to attend the University of Wisconsin-Superior to play for the NCAA Division III Yellowjackets, beginning in the 2009-2010 season. The 20 year old native of Kelowna, British Columbia was a two year member of the Saints after being acquired from the Quesnel Millionaires of the BCHL during the 2007-2008 season. Blanleil posted 6 goals and 15 assists for 21 points during the 2008-2009 campaign and served as an assistant captain with the Saints.
“Chad was a very important part of our club over the past two seasons. He brought an element of physical play and leadership that we relied upon heavily throughout the year. Chad really worked at refining his game and became a player that we relied upon in every situation. The Spruce Grove Saints would like to congratulate Chad and his family on this opportunity,” stated Saints GM/Head Coach Steve Hamilton. “We are proud of Chad’s accomplishments and wish him continued success throughout his NCAA career.”
Blanleil becomes the 5th member of the 2008-2009 Saints’ roster to commit to the NCAA, joining Connor Hardowa (New Hampshire), Brett Cameron (Alaska-Anchorage), Brett Switzer (Yale) and Scott Allen (Alaska-Anchorage).
